1. Agreement
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern access to and use of the Mise & Mastery training platform, including its website training features, iPhone and iPad applications, updates, and related services (collectively, the “App”), provided by Table & Line LLC (“Table & Line,” “we,” or “us”). These Terms apply regardless of whether you access the App through a website or mobile application.
Customers must accept these Terms when subscribing, and each User must accept them before first using the App. A person accepting on behalf of a Customer represents that they have authority to bind that Customer. Accepting as an individual User does not make that User responsible for the Customer’s subscription fees or indemnification obligations. Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and disclose personal information. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not access or use the App.
2. Customers and users
The App is sold only to businesses for use by their staff. Individuals and consumers cannot sign up for or buy the App. A restaurant that subscribes to the App is a "Customer." Its subscription is also governed by its signed Order Form, Subscription Agreement and Data Processing Addendum (the "Customer Agreement"); if these Terms conflict with the Customer Agreement, the Customer Agreement controls. People who use the App through a Customer's account ("Users") have one of four roles: Admin (owners and multi-location operators), General Manager ("GM"), Manager, or Employee. The Customer creates and controls User accounts, assigns roles, and can change or end access at any time. Table & Line provides software to the Customer and is not any User's employer; training requirements, pay, scheduling, discipline and other employment decisions belong to the Customer.
The Customer is responsible for determining, recording, and paying for all compensable time its Users spend completing training or otherwise using the App, including required training completed outside scheduled working hours, and for complying with applicable minimum-wage, overtime, recordkeeping, and youth-employment requirements. The Customer must establish a method for Users to report training time and must not require compensable training to be performed without pay. The Customer is also responsible for any legally required reimbursement of personal-device, internet, or mobile-data expenses. App completion records, scores, and activity logs are not a substitute for legally required timekeeping or payroll records.
3. Apple App Store
If you download the App from Apple's App Store, these Terms are between you and Table & Line only, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support, and, to the extent the law allows, has no warranty obligation for the App. Table & Line, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims about the App, including product-liability claims, claims that the App fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, consumer-protection claims, and claims that the App infringes a third party's intellectual property. You must comply with Apple's usage rules and any applicable third-party terms, and you confirm you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. embargo and are not on a U.S. government restricted-party list. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this Section and may enforce it. Subscriptions are purchased by the Customer through Table & Line's billing account, not through in-app purchase.
4. Age, roles and AI access
Employees may be 14 to 17 where the law allows. The Customer is responsible for any parental consent, work-permit and youth-employment rules that apply. The App is not directed to children under 14 and may not be used by anyone under 14. Employees have no AI features and no AI chat or microphone features. AI features are available only to Manager, GM and Admin accounts held by people 18 or older; a birthdate must be entered before a User can be given a Manager or higher role.
5. How training content is built and launched
Managers create games and training modules, by hand or with AI, and submit them for approval. Nothing reaches Employees until a GM or Admin approves and launches it; content an Admin pushes is pre-approved for the locations the Admin selects. Questions tagged as allergen or food-safety questions must each be approved individually, with the source shown beside the answer. Approved content may set passing scores, required training and due dates, and results may feed the Customer's employee rankings in our other products if the Customer turns that on.
6. Customer content
The Customer may upload recipes, menus, policies, training documents, images, audio and video ("Customer Content"). The Customer owns its Customer Content and the training games and materials generated from it for the Customer. The Customer grants us permission to host, process, copy and display Customer Content only to provide, secure and support the App for the Customer, and as described in the Privacy Policy and Data Processing Addendum. Uploaded documents may be posted inside the App as training resources for the Customer's Users. The Customer confirms it has the rights to everything it uploads and that uploads do not violate anyone's rights or the law. PDF and CSV report exports for meetings are coming soon; we do not promise that all Customer Content or data can be exported. Unless access must be restricted for security or legal reasons, after a subscription ends the Customer may request export of available Customer Content in an available standard format during a 90-day window, during which the Customer's data is retained and the subscription may be restored; thereafter, Customer data is deleted from production as stated in the Data Processing Addendum, subject to legal retention requirements and routine backup cycles.
7. AI features
Managers can scan or upload documents so AI drafts training games and tests, and the documents become training resources. The App also offers AI-made training videos shown before a test (coming soon), with synthetic (AI-generated) narration; narration is computer-generated and is not a recording of a real person speaking the Customer's content. AI features use third-party AI service providers listed on our Subprocessor List. Customer Content is not used to train AI models, by us or by our AI providers.
AI features may generate inaccurate, incomplete, biased, or unsuitable results. Outputs are provided for informational assistance and do not constitute legal, tax, accounting, employment, or other professional advice. Managers must review all AI output before submitting it, and GMs and Admins must review it before approving it. A qualified person must review outputs before relying on them. The Customer remains responsible for business and employment decisions. AI outputs must not be used as the sole basis for hiring, termination, compensation, disciplinary, safety, or other decisions materially affecting an individual. The App does not make hiring, firing, discipline or pay decisions.
Users may submit only information they are authorized to disclose. Unless expressly authorized by Table & Line in writing, users must not submit Social Security numbers, payment-card information, health information, passwords, or other highly sensitive information to AI features.
8. Customer responsibility for training accuracy
The Customer is solely responsible for the accuracy, completeness and legal compliance of all training content its Users approve and launch, including allergen, ingredient, food-safety, alcohol-service and health-code information, whether the content was written by the Customer, drafted by AI, taken from a Table & Line starter game, or prepared by Table & Line as part of a done-for-you setup. Done-for-you setup is a convenience service: we build drafts from the material the Customer provides, and the Customer must review and approve them. Training in the App does not replace any certification, food-handler card or training required by law, and is not legal, food-safety or employment advice.
9. Plans, pricing and setup
Mise & Mastery is offered as a single plan, priced per location per month, which includes 4 AI training videos per month. Plan prices, extra-video prices, employee-seat pricing, billing-frequency options and bundle discounts are shown on the Table & Line pricing page or at checkout, and in the Customer's Order Form where one applies.
- A one-time $50 setup fee applies to each new restaurant and is charged through the Customer's Table & Line account. It replaces all other setup and onboarding fees for products billed through that account, including Mise & Mastery. It applies to founding customers too. It is not refundable under the 60-day refund in Section 10.
- Billing is monthly by default. Customers may instead choose an optional annual prepay: the Customer prepays 1 year, billed at the price of 11 months (one month free), applied after any bundle discount. It is available for any combination of products on the Customer's Table & Line account and replaces any 12-month term or commitment.
- Bundle discounts apply automatically when a restaurant has two or more of Floorboard, Mise & Mastery, Paths and Rail & Pass on its Table & Line account. A single product has no bundle discount.
- Extra videos and any extra seats are billed on the Customer's regular invoice.
- All payments are made through the Customer's Table & Line billing account. Taxes are extra where they apply.
10. Refunds, cancellation and price changes
Unless the Customer Agreement expressly states otherwise, monthly subscriptions and annual prepays automatically renew for successive periods of the same length at the disclosed renewal rate until cancelled.
A new Customer may cancel within 60 days after its first paid subscription date for a full refund of subscription fees paid. Setup fees and separately purchased extras are excluded from this refund, except as required by law. After that 60-day period, fees are non-refundable, and no refunds or credits are provided for partial periods or unused time, except as required by law or expressly provided in the Customer Agreement. These rules apply to annual prepays too; a prepaid period is refundable only if it is cancelled before it starts.
Customers may cancel through any cancellation feature available in their billing account or by emailing legal@tableandline.com from an authorized account. Cancellation must be received at least 30 days before the next renewal date to prevent that renewal. If received later, the subscription renews once more and ends at the conclusion of that renewal term. Access continues through the paid subscription period. Deleting the App or ending an individual User’s access does not cancel the Customer’s subscription.
When a Customer’s subscription ends, all of its Users’ access to the App ends, including access to games and training. If a payment fails and remains unpaid after our payment processor’s final retry, we may cancel the subscription. After a subscription ends, we retain the Customer’s data for 90 days so the subscription can be restored, as described in Section 6.
We may change subscription rates only at renewal, with at least 60 days’ advance notice of the new rate and effective date. Any rate lock or different cancellation or renewal provision expressly stated in the Customer Agreement controls. Founding-customer pricing and benefits must be stated in the Customer’s Order Form or Customer Agreement.
11. Acceptable use
You agree not to: break any law or violate anyone's rights; upload content you have no right to upload, or malware; probe, scan or test the App's security without written permission; scrape, copy, resell or reverse engineer the App; access accounts, locations or data you are not authorized to access; cheat on or tamper with scores or leaderboards; use the App to harass, threaten or discriminate; or overload the App or its AI features by automated means. We may suspend or limit access we reasonably believe violates these Terms and will tell the affected Customer where appropriate.
12. Accounts and security
Users sign in through the Customer's Table & Line account. Keep sign-in details private, use two-factor sign-in where offered, and tell your manager and us right away if you think your account was accessed without permission. You are responsible for activity under your account unless it results from our failure to use reasonable security.
13. Our property
The App, software, designs, starter games we provide, and the names Table & Line and Mise & Mastery and related logos belong to Table & Line or its licensors. We give you a limited, revocable, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the App on devices you own or control under these Terms and, for App Store downloads, Apple's usage rules. If you send feedback, we may use it without obligation to you.
14. Disclaimers
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, AND EXCEPT AS A CUSTOMER AGREEMENT EXPRESSLY STATES, TABLE & LINE DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT PROMISE THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE OR SECURE, OR THAT AI OUTPUT OR TRAINING CONTENT WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE.
15. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS: (a) TABLE & LINE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA OR GOODWILL; (b) FOR CUSTOMERS, TABLE & LINE’S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE APP OR THESE TERMS WILL BE GOVERNED BY ANY EXPRESS LIABILITY LIMITATIONS IN THE APPLICABLE CUSTOMER AGREEMENT, INCLUDING ANY SEPARATE DATA-INCIDENT CAP. IF NO CUSTOMER AGREEMENT APPLIES, OR IT DOES NOT EXPRESSLY LIMIT THE LIABILITY AT ISSUE, TABLE & LINE’S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL SUCH CLAIMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100) OR THE SUBSCRIPTION FEES PAID OR PAYABLE BY THAT CUSTOMER FOR THE APP DURING THE TWELVE MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE EVENT FIRST GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM. MULTIPLE CLAIMS DO NOT INCREASE THIS LIMIT; AND (c) FOR ANYONE ELSE, INCLUDING USERS, TABLE & LINE'S TOTAL LIABILITY WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100). Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
16. Indemnity
A Customer will defend and indemnify Table & Line against third-party claims arising from its Customer Content, its training content (including allergen and food-safety information), its employment decisions, or its violation of these Terms or the law. This Section does not apply to Employees using the App as directed by their employer.
17. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time. We may suspend or end access if you violate these Terms, if the Customer ends your access, or if the Customer's subscription ends. Sections 6, 8 and 13 through 19 survive.
18. Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by Texas law, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts in Hays County, Texas, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction, except where your state's law gives you the right to bring a claim where you live.
19. Entire agreement and general terms
These Terms, the Privacy Policy and, for Customers, the Customer Agreement are the entire agreement about the App and replace any prior statements, proposals or conversations; you are not relying on any statement not included in them. We may update these Terms by posting a new version; for material changes we will give reasonable notice before they take effect, and changes never alter a signed Customer Agreement. If part of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Failure to enforce is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
